Collaboration is the cornerstone of the ROSETTA project, driving innovation and impactful solutions to reduce food waste caused by marketing standards. At the centre of this mission are the Multi-Actor Innovation Platforms (MIPs), designed to bring together stakeholders from every corner of the agri-food chain.
What Are MIPs?
Multi-Actor Innovation Platforms are designed to foster collaboration and innovation by uniting diverse stakeholders, including farmers, food manufacturers, distributors, retailers, policymakers and consumer organisations. By engaging these groups, MIPs ensure every voice is heard and that solutions are inclusive practical, and sustainable.
A Five-Country Initiative
To maximise impact, ROSETTA has established MIPs in five key countries: Greece, Ireland, Denmark, Spain, and Poland. These platforms are tailored to address local challenges while contributing to the broader mission of reducing food waste across Europe.
Progress So Far
Since their launch, MIPs have seen encouraging engagement:
- 78 stakeholders have already joined across the five countries, representing a diverse mix of perspectives and expertise.
- MIPs remain open to new members, ensuring flexibility and adaptability as the project evolves.
The journey is just beginning. As the MIPs continue to grow, they will play a critical role in testing and implementing sustainable solutions that address food waste challenges. For those interested in a deeper dive into the structure and operation of MIPs, there is an upcoming report (D1.1), which will provide comprehensive details, including member selection, management, and monitoring processes. Once published, the report will be available on the ROSETTA project website.
