Wasteless is an applied research project, which aims to measure and monitor food losses and waste in the EU. Specifically, it will develop and test a mix of innovative tools and methodologies for Food Loss and Waste (FLW) measurement and monitoring, will recommend a harmonised methodological Framework for FLW quantification, and will develop a decision support systemic Toolbox targeting all food value chain stakeholders.

Excel4Pro is a 4-year EU funded project aiming to transform the agri-food sector by supporting cross-border collaboration and stimulating scientific excellence in Türkiye, Greece and Ukraine. Through strategically leveraging the location and scale of protein rich crop production and processing, Excel4Pro creates a single, interconnected, cross-border Excellence Hub that boosts plant-based protein ecosystems, drives innovation and provides sustainable food products.

CUES addresses the urgent need for a more sustainable food system that benefits the environment, society, and the economy. The project aims to foster a Triple Change in the food system concerning culture, food value chain, and policy. To this end, CUES will pilot nine food system interventions and policy dialogues, actively involving consumers, food value chain actors and policymakers.

BREADCRUMB aims to provide an empirical evidence-based understanding of the purpose and nature of food marketing standards and their impact on FW generation, to propose interventions that balance the objectives of reducing FW and other objectives of standards and to help food chain actors increase the business potential of suboptimal foods.

The SISTERS project targets reducing food loss and waste across Europe's food value chain through innovative tools for primary producers, new packaging technologies, and consumer awareness campaigns. Launched on November 1, 2021, and running until April 30, 2026, this key EU initiative aims to cut food loss and waste by 27.4% and CO2 emissions by 20%. The consortium includes 18 partners from eight European countries.

FOLOU addresses food loss at the primary production stage, impacting the environment and food security. It focuses on understanding the causes of food loss, developing measurement tools, training stakeholders and sharing best practices. With 16 partners from 10 countries, FOLOU aims to promote sustainable food systems and reduce food loss over a four-year period.
